Join us for our fourth annual Du Bois Forum in the Berkshires this summer.
Friday, July 18
The main event will take place the afternoon and evening of Friday, July 18th at Jacob’s Pillow. The event will include a roundtable and fellows’ reception, a performance by The Red Clay Dance Company, and the Du Bois Forum awards dinner, where we will honor our inaugural awardees, including former Governor and First Lady of Massachusetts Deval and Diane Patrick, Executive Director of Embrace Boston Imari Paris Jeffries, Secretary Lonnie Bunch, and others. The awards dinner will include a Du Bois-inspired dinner menu curated by James Beard award-winning chef Bryant Terry and a performance from singer/songwriter Candice Hoyes.
Saturday, July 19
On Saturday, July 19, we’ll offer a walking tour of Du Bois’ Great Barrington, W.E.B. Du Bois’ historic homeplace. Highlights will include the Black church of Du Bois’ childhood with the Du Bois Freedom Center and James Weldon Johnson’s writing cabin with the James Weldon Johnson Foundation. The tour will conclude at the unveiling of a public memorial to W.E.B. Du Bois with the W.E.B. Du Bois Sculpture Project.
Sunday, July 20
Stay tuned for a Sunday afternoon panel at Chesterwood with the W.E.B. Du Bois Sculpture Project, featuring Du Bois Forum Fellows.

Friday’s event will take place at Jacob’s Pillow. You'll be asked to purchase tickets to the event after you enter your information. If ticket payment is a barrier to your attendance, please reach out to us at duboisforum@tufts.edu. Saturday’s walking tour will take place in downtown Great Barrington, MA. Please plan for your own travel to and from the weekend events.
